Every year, Dutch architect Ben van Berkel and his team at UN Studio receive a great many awards, such as the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award and the Japanese Good Design Award. With experience in designing theatres in the Netherlands, Austria and Russia, they are currently taking the helm of the Lyric Theatre Complex project in our West Kowloon Cultural District. The world-class theatre, to be open in 2021, will be an inviting and vibrant space for performing art practitioners and the public alike with performance and rehearsal venues as well as restaurants, a roof garden and waterfront walkway for public use. They are also working with the Hardt Hyperloop in Europe and presented the concept design of “the station of the future”. Wonder what new elements we can find in the groundbreaking “station”?
