A new fine jewellery showcase on Rue de la Paix
In the heart of Paris’ golden triangle, at the entrance to the jewellery “Place”, at number 20 rue de la Paix, LALIQUE has just opened its first shop entirely dedicated to fine jewellery. With great emotion, nearly 110 years later, the House reconnects with its origins not far from the shop where René Lalique (1860-1945) exhibited his works as a jeweller between 1905 and 1935, at 24 Place Vendôme. In 1935, impassioned by the glasswork that had always adorned his jewellery, René Lalique became the glassworks artist who left the Place to set up at 11 rue Royale, Paris 8th, an historical address eternally emblematic of the House of LALIQUE’s Art de Vivre. In 1935, impassioned by the glasswork that had always adorned his jewellery, René Lalique became the glassworks artist who left the Place to set up at 11 rue Royale, Paris 8th, an historical address eternally emblematic of the House of Lalique’s Art de Vivre.
In a tribute to René Lalique, the architecture for this new shop is inspired by both Art Nouveau and Art Deco in which Lalique was the master of avant-garde in terms of materials. In designing this new LALIQUE showcase, the Pustetto Agency has combined the styles with magnificence and purity, between poetic softness and graphic rigor. The House’s boldness is revealed in colour contrasts and details, as a genuine signature of the “Sculptor of Light” and its craftsmanship: mat leather and shiny lacquer finishes, warm wood and cool marble, or black and white warmed by coppery gold. The preciousness of this new showcase sparkles in the dazzling light of 2,500 Gourmande rings suspended from a majestic chandelier in a tribute to the famous ring designed by René Lalique in 1931. Its Art-Nouveau inspired lines are extended to the design of the wall displays and staircase that leads to the private salon. LALIQUE invites you to enjoy this new experience from the moment you enter the shop all the way to the private salon and to rediscover the Aster panels in LALIQUE crystal decorated with the famous plant motif in micro-relief.
During Haute Couture week in July, this showcase will celebrate the new LALIQUE jewellery collection, Soleil de Gaïa. Over a century after the master jeweler René Lalique, the opening of the new shop seals the resurrection of the House’s fine jewellery, two years after its precious rebirth on Place Vendôme at Hôtel d’Evreux, with its Odyssée du Feu Sacré collection.
