THE DESIGNER

Hamajima Takuya is a Japanese Artist/designer based in Tokyo, Japan.

After graduating from Musashino Art University in 2011, studying the preparation of natural materials and heat treatment technology at the Ceramics Research Laboratory, he became independent.

He has a passion for craftsmanship and sculptural modelling representation, he continues to exhibit his highly refined art pieces in major cities like London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and more.

He produces the entire design production himself, including the development of material and all processes of moulding.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

“One thought I have been harbouring is creating new encounters and awakening new reactions from the combinations.

Aren't new archetypes of future generated when people meet and create different circumstances? Similarly, in artistic expression, I'm constantly in search of a new combination of materials and skills. I feel (always have a feeling that) there is always a story between two objects, and I'm expecting something new to be born as a result.”
